Delhi government registered a case against the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital based in Janak Puri after hospital officials presented inaccurate data of available beds on the Delhi COVID patients portal.
According to the Delhi Police, hospital officials told a team of government officers who visited the hospital on orders of DM that no beds were available for COVID-patients but showed 93 beds as available on the Delhi COVID patient portal.
Arvind Kejriwal in a review meeting on Saturday had directed officials to take stern action against hospitals putting out wrong information about the availability of beds. It was directed that real-time availability of beds be showcased on the Application as well as LED boards to be displayed outside hospitals.
However, the officials were denied bed despite 93 beds being displayed on the application.
The case was registered under IPC sections 415, 417, 188 and 51(B)/52 DDMA Act
Similar action was taken against HAHC hospital in Hamdard Nagar. The bed was denied whereas the Delhi Corona app showed 239 beds available in the hospital
